Tributes to Blake and Mortimer in Tintin and vice versa (general point)

Message par MajorWings »

(IN PREPARATION)

We all have here that the tributes of Tintin in Blake and Mortimer and vice versa are numerous. All these tributes are mostly noted in different places of the forum. You will say to yourself, but what is the point of this subject? This subject is used to list, to bring together in the same subject all these tributes.
We know that the first tributes are due to the friendship of Hergé and Edgar Pierre Jacobs, then to their rivalry, and finally to the buyers who like the winks.

TRIBUTE TO BLAKE AND MORTIMER IN TINTIN

Tintin in Congo
---Image
Page 1, A1. Hergé is framed in blue. Jacobs is in red and J.V. Melkelebe in green.

Cigars of Pharaoh
---Image
On the cover we see E.P. Jacobs mummified under the name of E.P. Jacobini. The archaeologist by the name "Grossbrab" reminds me of Herr Doktor Grossgrabenstein from the Mystery of the Great Pyramid.
---Image
Page 8, A1. Back from E.P. Jacobs.

The Black Island
---Image
One of the bandits present throughout the album strangely resembles Olrik ...

King Ottokar's Sceptre
Image
---Page 38, D1. Hergé and Jacobs discuss in the crowd.
Image
---Page 59, C1. Hergé, Jacobs et J.V. Melkelbe are present in the crowd.

The Seven Crystal Balls
Image
---Planche 16, B1. Jacobs is present in the crowd.

The Land of Black Gold (Tintin Magazine Version)
Image
---Page 49, D1. This tribute will not be included in the album version.

Destination Moon
Image
---Page 40, C2. E.P. Jacobs is one of the engineers.

COVERS OF TINTIN MAGAZINE (thanks for http://bellier.co/)
Image
---Cover of Tintin Magazine N15 (2 Janvier 1947). Hergé draw Jacobs, Blake and Mortimer
Image
---Couverture du Journal Tintin N51 (22 Décembre 1959). Hergé draw Mortimer.

DIVERS DRAWS
Image
---Hergé draw Mortimer.

TRIBUTES TO TINTIN IN BLAKE AND MORTIMER (OF E.P. JACOBS)

The Mystery of the Great Pyramid
Image
---Page 42, C2. One shop have the name of Hergé.

DIVERS DRAWS
Image
---Jacobs draws here a big "ghost tintin", symbol of the pressure which the newspaper puts him under pressure, he uses humor, of course.

TRIBUTES TO TINTIN IN BLAKE AND MORTIMER (REPRISES)

The Voronov Plot
Image
---The same restaurant as in King Ottokar's Sceptre. The painting at the back of the room reminds me of the scene of the "vote" in Tintin in the land of the Soviets.
Image
---Olrik utters the same words as Doctor Muller in Tintin in the Land of Black Gold. [Yves Sente talks about this tribute in "L'Héritage Jacobs".]

The Curse of the 30 Pieces of Silver - 1
Image
---The Broken Ear Fetish Arumbaya seems to find its place at 99bis Park Lane.
Image
---Captain Haddock's ancestor becomes Von Stahl's ancestor ? [Thanks for Moulignac].

The Septimus Wave
Image
---Tintin is behind, at customs.

Plutarch's Staff
Image
---The scene looks a lot [url = http: //bellier.co/petits%20vingtiemes/pv1939/271939/P13.jpg/] like this scene from Ottokar's Scepter [/ url].

The Valley of the Immortals - 1
Image
Image
--- The rickshaw scene, as in Le Lotus Bleu.
Image
--- The return of Mr. Gibbons!
Image
--- Captain Haddock seems to have had one too many drinks (at the counter).
Image
--- The presentation of the Skylantern is reminiscent of the presentation of the lunar rocket.

The Valley of the Immortals - 2
Image
---The return of Tchang !
Image
---Newspaper clippings like at the end of The red Sea Sharks.

And there you have it, I finished this "gathering". Don't hesitate to tag it if you find other tributes.

When Joseph Bazalgette discovers the manuscript signed "W.S.", the arumbaya fetish of "The Broken Ear" is on the table in front of him....
